After the memorial event “Steps for life” in Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum we have opened the memorial wall with 25000 Jews’ names, which were deported to Riga during the Holocaust from different European towns and were killed here. Survived just few hundred people. The opening were attended by the Major of Osnabrück, and other representatives from the Kassel and Osnabrück. We would like to thank Mr. Berkovich, the chairman of the board of the Riga Corporation for Professional Artists for donation the painting about the Riga Ghetto created by Alla Karalenko (Riga) to our museum, special thanks to Tatiana Boichenko – songwriter who read hear poem dedicated to the ghetto (her poems are published in the anthology in Haifa and on the greater part of them has written songs), as well as a lot of thanks to our guest from Kassel Mrs Elena Padva, who sang a stunning Jewish Yiddish songs with a guitar – these songs were written in the ghetto, including in Riga ghetto.
